Kuwaiti helps rescue Filipina from Asian cabbie's desire


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Police have arrested an unidentified roaming taxi driver for allegedly attempting to kidnap a Filipino woman, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources a Kuwaiti man witnessed how the taxi driver was harassing the woman and refusing to stop the vehicle. The Kuwaiti then ordered the taxi driver to pull over, but the latter refused and continued driving. The Kuwaiti then contacted the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior and at the same time chased the taxi driver and gave police his location. Based on the description of the car and the location given by the Kuwaiti, police managed to arrest the suspect. During interrogation the police discovered the victim worked in beauty parlor in Sabah Al-Salem and the suspect used to drop her to work always. On the day of the incident, however, he wanted to kidnap the victim and sell her to a prostitution den in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. He has been handed over to the competent authorities.
