Rector of Imam University, Suleiman bin Abdullah Aba Al-Khail, addresses participants at the 15th Arab Creative Students Forum.
(MENAFN - Arab News) The 15th Arab Creative Students Forum to encourage student creativity in scientific activities and cultural and artistic endeavors opened at the Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) on Saturday.

Imam University is the first Saudi university to host the "Arab Universities and Development" event, organized under the supervision of the deanship of talent, creativity and excellence at the university and in cooperation with the Arab Council for the Training of Students of Arab Universities.

Minister of Higher Education, Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Angari, told forum participants who included representatives from various Arab-world universities, "Creativity is necessary to discover the relationship between art and science, thought and knowledge, and reflect the attention of those who are endowed with deep insight and an enlightened mind."

Varsity Rector, Suleiman bin Abdullah Aba Al-Khail, said those who analyzed the history of the Islamic nation and civilization discovered it was established on the basis of a far-sighted vision and an intimate knowledge of science and other disciplines. He said the industrial and technological revolution in today's world is an extension of the groundwork laid in the past by our creative Arabic predecessors.

Al-Khail said the Imam University, is often called a university giant in view of its wide range of scientific and Arabic specialties, and encourages talent, creativity and excellence across different departments and colleges.
The conference is an important tribute to talented Saudi students and their counterparts in Arab universities, he added. Student activities, exhibitions and programs will continue until Wednesday.
