Russia- Mail.Ru sells Groupon, Zynga stakes

(MENAFN) Russia's Mail.Ru announced that it has sold its shares in US Groupon, the daily deal website, and in Zynga, the game maker, reported Reuters. The email-to-social networking group said that it would use the proceeds from both sales to pay a special dividend. The company added that it is also interested in acquiring additional shares in social network Vkontakte. As of November 9, the company owned 0.84-percent stake in Groupon and 0.16-percent stake in Zynga. Since the start of 2012, Mail.Ru, which has a stake of less than 1 percent in Facebook, has been reducing its holdings in US internet firms.
