(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Indian Social Club (ISC), Salalah along with Tamil Wing and the Charity Wing of ISC, Salalah organised a Medical Camp for Blood Donation and Health Awareness at the IMI Hall in Salalah earlier this month.Full Health Awareness coverage was carried out with banner messages and health talks by eminent specialist doctors from Sultan Qaboos Hospital and Badr Samaa Hospital.Blood tests for sugar and cholesterol levels, computerised eye tests, ECG recording and yoga classes were offered to the public. Voluntary blood donors donated 53 units of blood to Sultan Qaboos Hospital Blood Bank.There was also a live fire fighting demonstration by the Fire Safety Department of the Port of Salalah.Sheikh Abdullah Suleiman al Sabaee, the director general of the Ministry of Social Development was the chief guest.Manpreet Singh, chairman, Indian Social Club handed over a memento to the chief guest and said he was glad that the regional wings are taking active part in such community support activities.The programme was attended by many. The Indian community formed a large chunk of the public turnout at the event.Dr Amaanulla, the convener of the ISC Tamil wing said that with the encouraging signs of participation from the public, such large camps could be a regular feature if there were sponsors.
