(MENAFN- Arab Times) Saud Al-Samaka, candidate of the Third Constituency has commended procedures HH the Amir adopted to deal with the most recent political event, reports Al-Anba daily.
In a statement after inauguration of his election headquarters, Al-Samaka added the Amir had dealt with the uncertainties of citizens by his participation in the Golden Jubilee of Kuwaiti constitution.
He stressed that nations are not built by specific elements and history doesn't stop for some special individuals, so it's aberrant to start judging the upcoming parliament without first assessing their performance and laws they may approve.
Al-Samaka noted his electoral program covers the fears of citizens on education, economy, housing and health care, in addition to laws related to security.
Meanwhile, candidate of the Fourth Constituency Moa'ed Al-Khalaf criticized the absence of government vision on environment, in the midst of many other issues that affect the life of citizens and Kuwait's environment.
While inquiring about huge monetary funds set aside for environment purpose, Al-Khalaf also asked of the resources allotted to manage pollution, which includes the treatment of oil lakes formed during the Iraqi invasion.
He pointed to lack of official mechanism by which oil wells could be treated, and noted the matter leads to contamination of soil and harmful emissions, indicating oil spills which had settled in the soil off Kuwait's territorial waters has created another environment pollution to endanger the marine life.
He wanted to know what the government has done with 2.4 billion dinars it received as environmental compensation for damage caused during the Iraqi invasion. He declared adopting environmental strategy to rehabilitate the Kuwaiti environment.
For his part, Fahd Jassem Al-Shehab, candidate of the second constituency blamed the government for the incessant crises in the country and stressed it's the outcome of lack of application of law.
"It is unfortunate that law is not applied in Kuwait. Nevertheless, the absence of decisive decisions by government has been the key reason behind violation of laws", he added, demanding the government must apply law impartially to serve justice and equality among the various groups in the society.
He regretted that youths in the country are neglected, even though the category is regarded as the key resource in many countries. He urged the government and civil society to give youths the chance to participate in the process of decision-making, while solving their problems.
On the other hand, former MP and candidate of the Fourth Constituency Mubarak Al-Khurainej has said the recent Israeli assault on Gaza which commenced with the assassination of Hamas official Ahmad Al-Ja'bari denotes a new Zionist plot that aims to displace the people of Gaza to Sinai, so as to dismantle their cause and existence. Thus, the Arab and Islamic nation must take decisive stance to rescue Gaza.
He praised the step taken by Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi to call back Egypt's ambassador to Tel Aviv as an official protest against Israeli policies.
He called for all Arab and Islamic countries having relations with Israel to follow the same example and unify efforts to rescue the people of Gaza from the Zionist plot.
On the issue of Kuwaitis studying in Jordan, he stressed the safety of those students is the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs represented by Kuwait's embassy in Jordan, as well as the Jordanian security system, indicating the Kuwaiti ambassador to Jordan Dr Hamad Al-Duaij is efficient and able to manage the situation.
