(MENAFN - Arab Times) A group of political activists are of the view that the storming of National Assembly premises a year ago was an act of vandalism showing the bad intention of the troublemakers who planned to strike at the foundations of the country and seize the power to dominate affairs here in this country.
Former minister of oil Ali Al-Baghli said during a recent interview that the storming of National Assembly by the MPs who call themselves 'opposition' is among the worst events recorded in Kuwait's history, adding HH the Amir describes the event as 'Black Wednesday' due to gravity of the crime.
He stressed the importance of activating and applying the internal regulations of parliament, so that such a crime would not be repeated in future-as the country remembers the unfortunate incident which happened a year ago.
Professor of International Law Dr Madous Al-Rashidi also described the act of storming the parliament as shameful and which the local and international customs condemn, adding the judiciary must strictly deal with all persons involved.
Meanwhile, expert in political and development affairs Amir Al-Mansour said the crisis provokers were testing the political atmosphere to prepare for coup d' etat so as to seize the power here, as they stormed the National Assembly on Black Wednesday. He stressed those involved had committed the crime knowing well they would escape from punishment.
He called for all perpetrators to be punished for the offense, as about 98 percent of Kuwaitis do not support the crisis provokers who are working for personal interests, with the aim of creating division among the people of the country.
