(MENAFN - Arab News) Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, received here today the Commander of US Central Command General James Mattis, and his accompanying delegation.
At the beginning of the reception, the Crown Prince asked the US official to convey his greetings and congratulations to US President Barack Obama on the occasion of his election as President of the United States of America for a second term, wishing him and the US friendly people further progress and prosperity. The Crown Prince stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on continuing support for close and historical relations between the two countries in all fields.
During the meeting, they discussed prospects of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the military field.
The audience was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Adviser and Supervisor of the Office and Special affairs of the Crown Prince; Chief of General Staff, General Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Qabil; Director General of the Office of Minister of Defense Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-Bunyan; and Charge D'affaires of the US Embassy in Riyadh Thomas Williams.
