(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Travelex Oman's initiative to recognise and reward outstanding contributors to the tourism industry in the sultanate has seen a good response since nominations were opened to the public.Travelex Oman launched the Tourism Ambassador Awards in September with the aim of rewarding individuals and businesses for achievements in the promotion of tourism in Oman “ providing recognition for those involved in tourism activities across the country who are often the unsung' heroes of the Omani tourism industry and have gone above and beyond in delivering first class service and tourism products.Graham Flannery, Travelex director of business development for the Middle East, said, ''We are delighted with the enthusiasm the awards have been receiving in Oman. Travel and tourism is an extremely dynamic sector and it is absolutely essential to identify, recognise and reward best practices within the sector. Through these awards, it is our endeavour to identify the shining stars and inspire others to follow suit.''He said, through the past month, a large number of nominations have been received for individuals and companies highlighting their contributions to the sector.
