(MENAFN - Arab News) The body of an Indian nurse who died in a road accident in Al-Kharj, was repatriated home yesterday.

The deceased, Judy Mathew, 26, unmarried, was working as a staff nurse at Al-Mather Dental Clinic in Al-Kharj, about 100 kilometers from the capital of Riyadh,

Mathew was hit by a car on Oct. 26, driven by a 14-year-old Saudi boy, while she was crossing the road in front of the Al-Mather Dental Clinic in Al-Kharj.

The nurse from Kerala (Mangalathu Veedu, Changanachery, Kerala), was working for the hospital for the past two years.

The boy who was responsible for the fatal accident was arrested and is now out on bail until the police complete their investigation.

According to police report, 75 percent of the fault was on the boy, who was driving the vehicle.

Following the incident, Sawad Ayathil, secretary of "Sahayi" a local Kerala-based organization and a constituent member of Federation of Kerala Associations in Saudi Arabia (FOKASA), was given power of attorney to the father of Mathew to look after the interests of the deceased.

According to Ayathil, the management of the hospital, where the deceased was working ,was very helpful in processing the papers and sending the body to the native place of the deceased.

He also said the management deposited the salary dues and the End of Service benefit due her for two years at the Labor Office. It will be sent to the Kottayam District Collector through the Indian Embassy in Riyadh.

The company also bore the expenses for the repatriation of the body.

Rafi Pangodu, the treasurer of the FOKASA in Saudi Arabia, accompanied the body home on an Emirates flight.

Mathew's body will be buried today at the St. Kuriakose Orthodox Church, Changanacherry, Kottayam. Mathew was survived by her father, mother and elder sister.

The Indian embassy will represent at the judicial inquiry on behalf of the deceased during the future proceedings.
