Following its recent success in the 2012 Business Traveller Asia-Pacific awards, Hyatt is pleased to announce that three Hyatt hotels in the Asia-Pacific region, and one hotel in the Gulf, have landed coveted spots in The Luxe List 2012.
Compiled by award-winning DestinAsian magazine, The Luxe List is an annual showcase of the best new hotels and resorts in the region. Each property is visited by the magazine's contributors and vetted by editorial staffs, who decide on a final list based on style, service and setting. Now in its ninth year, this compilation of luxurious hotels and resorts is considered a leading indicator of new properties in the region that merit the attention of discerning travellers.
In this year's Luxe List, published in the October/November 2012 issue of DestinAsian, Andaz Shanghai and Park Hyatt Ningbo Resort and Spa were named two of the best hotels in China. Meanwhile, both Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas were one of only two hotels chosen in Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
DestinAsian cited Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas as an 'opulent addition' to the shoreline, applauding its environmental initiative of building a boardwalk to the beach to dissuade guests from treading on the nesting grounds of local hawksbill turtles.. It also praised Andaz Shanghai for its 'playful vibe' and complimentary snacks, minibar, Wi-Fi and local phone calls, while at Park Hyatt Ningbo Resort and Spa, the publication describes the Tea House in the 500-year-old former ancestral mansion as 'stunningly repurposed' and the Seafood House as 'amazing.' Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur has 'seriously upped the ante' with its 'prime location' and 'some of the most dramatic views in town' says the publication
"It has been another big year for openings in the region and each one of these is a keeper," said DestinAsian Editor-in-Chief and Associate Publisher, Christopher Hill. "It's not just because they've recently opened, but because they've brought something new-and often trendsetting-to the scene."
"We have been honoured by the attention that Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas has received since it opened one year ago; and are proud to have created a hotel that is environmentally conscious and creates a understated and sophisticated ambience which offers personalised luxury", said Pablo Graf, Senior Vice President in charge of Operations for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Southwest Asia.
"We are thrilled to see four Hyatt hotels honoured in this year's DestinAsian Luxe List," said Managing Director of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts - Asia Pacific, Larry Tchou. "On the back of seeing seven Hyatt hotels win "Best Business Hotel" awards in their respective countries at the recent Business Traveller awards, 2012 is turning out to be an outstanding year for Hyatt. A great deal of effort is put into conceiving and executing original concepts for new hotels, so it is extremely gratifying when our creativity and hard work is recognized in this way."
