(MENAFN - Arab Times) Some members of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who were arrested after inciting public rebellion on various social networking sites, have had a series of meetings with their counterparts in Kuwait, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting Dubai Police Chief Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan.

In a recent interview with Al-Madina electronic newspaper, Khalfan expounded on the alleged organizational ties between members of the Brotherhood in Kuwait and the UAE. He revealed the Brotherhood members arrested in the UAE were found to have had dealings with foreign authorities subjected to investigation for suspicions of involvement in State security crimes.

Khalfan said those who were arrested have contacts with the Brotherhood chapter in Kuwait. He claimed several former Kuwaiti MPs have been trying to impede procedures taken against the group. He admitted some former Kuwaiti lawmakers are not welcome in the UAE without disclosing their names, adding that they know themselves. He added the results of initial investigations conducted on the arrested Brotherhood members showed that they had several meetings with their counterparts in Kuwait.

According to Khalfan, the Brotherhood chapter in Kuwait teaches members of the other chapters through the training courses it organizes regularly, while unifying members by teaching them how to act and resist. He alleged Israel has a huge role in the Brotherhood as some of the group's members are working with the Zionists because they are experts in instigating chaos.

The Muslim Brotherhood should apologize to Kuwait for standing against the country during the Iraqi invasion in 1990, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting former Egyptian presidential candidate Dr Abdulmon'm Abu Al-Fotouh.

Al-Fotouh made the statement in a seminar hosted recently by the Media Salon in time for his visit to sign a cooperation protocol between Egypt Institution for Voluntary Work and its Kuwaiti counterpart.

Disclosing he no longer belongs to the Brotherhood, Al-Fotouh said he is not in the position to apologize to Kuwait on behalf of the group. He lamented the Brotherhood has deviated from the ideology of its founder - Imam Hassan Al-Banaa.

Al-Fotouh also stressed the need to launch intensive campaigns to promote Islam, while calling for the activation of the Al-Azhar document. He attributed the emergence of a large number of political parties to oppression.
