HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and HE Dr. Thabet Al Taher , General Manager of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Forum (TAG Forum).
(MENAFN Press) AMMAN --- November 13, 2012 ---

HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh announced that Dr. Thabet Al Taher has joined Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) in his capacity as Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Forum (TAG Forum) General Manager.

HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh commended Al Taher's vast experience and exceptional achievements throughout all the positions he handled. In the last nine years, Dr. Al Taher assumed the position of Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation Director General where he realized significant achievements through the expanding network the Foundation established on the local, regional and international levels.

Dr. Al Taher was a member in vital national institutions mainly a member in the Jordan Royal Advisory Committee on the Energy Sector and a member of the National Council for Human Resources Development. During his career course, Al Taher was appointed Jordan Phosphate Mines Company General Manager, Arabian Mining Company (AMC) General Manager during which he was chair or member of a number of Arab companies which the AMC had shares in several Arab countries. He was as well Deputy Chairman of the Arab Potash Company.

In 1989, Al Taher was selected to join the cabinet as minister of energy and mineral resources, following this post; he was appointed head of the National Petroleum Company.

Meanwhile, he spent 12 years in the membership of the board of the Arab
Jordan Investment Bank, 4 years a member in the board of the Central Bank of Jordan, he chaired the committee of the Jordan Gulf Bank board which was reestablished later under the name Jordan Commercial Bank. Currently, Al Taher is the Deputy Chairman of the Jordan Businessmen Association, Secretary General of the Federation of Arab Businessmen, and Vice Chair of the Jordan Society for Scientific Research.

Dr. Al Taher took part in the scientific research councils in a number of Jordanian universities; he also worked as a professor in the University of Jordan for two years. He was also awarded the Order of the Star of Jordan of the First Degree.

Dr. Al Taher holds a Master's degree in Management, a diploma in general management, a diploma in industrial management from the Netherlands, a diploma from the International Marketing Institute - Harvard University in addition to receiving an honorary doctorate from one of the American universities.

On this occasion, HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that TAG Forum will set up action plans to make the Forum an international think take institution in addition to its concern of economic, social and scientific research issues in the Arab world adding that "we are all looking forward to benefit from Al Taher's considerable experience in all fields."
