(MENAFN- Arab Times) An elderly Kuwaiti woman who trusted her Asian driver a little too much took her for a ride and escaped from the country after stealing KD 10,000 from her account over a one-month period, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a complaint filed by the victim with the authorities, the female citizen trusted her driver for everything. She added each time she needed money from the bank he would withdraw it for her and gained her confidence.
One day he claimed his mother was very sick and wanted to go 'home' to visit her. The sponsor fell pity for him and not only gave him a return ticket but also KD 500 'reward' for his faithfulness.
However, after reaching home the man telephoned to say his mother is hail and hearty and that he does not wish to return to Kuwait.
The theft of the money was discovered when the woman told her daughter to withdraw some money to buy new furniture.
