Lachlan Star: Sentry Investments increases stake to 16.1%

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Lachlan Star's (ASX: LSA) substantial shareholder Sentry Investments has increased its stake in the company to 16.1%, and now hold 14.7 million shares. Lachlan Star continues to beat its own records, having achieved a new record during the September 2012 quarter with gold mined at its CMD Mine in Chile up 14% quarter-on-quarter to 17,973 ounces under its ownership. The strong performance in the September quarter was driven by a rapid increase in the ore mining and stacking rates from the last week of August onwards. Peak crushing and stacking rates were as high as 21,000 tonnes per day during September. The ore tonnes mined and stacked in September are the highest at the CMD Gold Mine since July 2008 and total mining movement of 2 million tonnes in the month of September is a record for the operation.
