(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti Oil Minister Hani Hussain said on Sunday that the environment and employee safety would both be taken into account in putting out the Al-Rawdatain oil well, which was set ablaze in order to resolve the problem of leaking dangerous gases.

Excess as a result of the fire has all been removed, he told KUNA, with digging now underway in resumption of the efforts.

A little over a month ago, an error during the excavation of Al-Rawdatain oil well resulted in the leak of hydrogen sulfide, a gas which is extremely harmful if inhaled.

The state-run body in charge of oil wells in the country, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) was forced to set the oil well on fire in order to get rid of the gas emissions.
