(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) United Arab of Emirates (UAE) Minister of Energy Mohammad bin Dhaaen Al-Hameli said here on Sunday that in addition to current production of gas, commitment to development of gas output would enable Abu Dhabi to produce a billion cubic feet per day of gas in 2013.
Al-Hameli told the daily bulletin of the 2012 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), that with the inauguration of integrated gas development projects in 2013, which links offshore fields with onshore gas treatment facilities, gas would be distributed via customers' networks and facilities of electric gas production in accordance with the government's plans.
He asserted that his country has proved its role as a major oil and gas producer, as well as its commitment in providing the world with Hydrocarbon materials in a way that contributes to supporting global economic growth and enhancing people' lives in and outside the country.
The UAE minister indicated that that ADIPEC was a major international event that allowed opportunities to transfer the knowledge and technology in order to lower cost, and enable working companies to perform better in management of major projects.
Furthermore, he praised the step taken by organizers of the exhibition and conference in making this year's session concentrates on gas issues, adding that on local level; commitment to the development of gas production would enable Abu Dhabi to produce one billion cubic feet per day of gas starting from 2013 with the inauguration of gas production projects in the country.
