Kuwait- Beneficiaries bribing citizens to contest election, says MP

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Former MP Khalid Al-Sultan says beneficiaries are bribing citizens with millions to run in the upcoming parliamentary elections, reports Alam Alyawm daily. He said a citizen informed him personally that beneficiaries asked him to run in the elections and promised to take care of all related expenses, adding that another citizen was offered KD 500,000 to run in the elections. He further revealed that a citizen in the fifth constituency was invited to run in the elections without paying any costs. During a recent seminar, he stressed that some beneficiaries should be held responsible for the state of instability and escalation in the country since 2006, saying, "We are similar to a patient who has been suffering from a disease since 2006. He could have diagnosed it earlier but he managed to discover the disease only much later." He condemned the rumors spread against the Muslim Brotherhood Movement, which has been accused of plotting against the regime, indicating that a large number of majority bloc members of the nullified 2012 parliament are not happy about the so-called elected government or constitutional monarchy. He stressed that none of the majority bloc members are against the regime, adding that all allegations against them are plots and lies.
