(MENAFN - Arab Times) Two Indian expatriates were arrested recently due to a quarrel that occurred between 15 Indian expatriates and 2 Sri Lankan expatriates in Mangaf.
Reportedly, while the two Sri Lankan expatriates were in a commercial complex in Mangaf, an Indian expatriate accompanied with 14 of his friends stopped them. An intense argument between them developed into a physical fight when an Indian expatriate punched a Sri Lankan on the face. When an eyewitness informed the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior about the quarrel, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and referred the Sri Lankans to Adan Hospital for treatment as they had sustained several injuries.
Even though most of the suspects escaped, securitymen managed to arrest two among them and referred them to police station of the area.
During interrogations, one of the suspects informed securitymen that the tension between them started when the Sri Lankan expatriate, who is his colleague, complained about him to the director of the company, falsely accusing him of sleeping with an Indonesian woman who works with them in one of the rooms of the company. Consequently, the director of the company terminated him based on the false reports without carrying out necessary investigations. He explained that he and his friends were at the commercial complex to confront the Sri Lankan and question him about his intention for issuing such false accusations.
Securitymen took necessary action against the suspects and detained them in police custody to be referred to the Public Prosecution.
