UAE, Turkmenistan relations hailed

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The standing relations between the UAE and Turkmenistan are unique particularly at the level of the leadership of the two countries, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said on Thursday. "Relations between the two countries significantly grew over the recent years and paved the way to strategic relations and partnerships with the Turkmen government and created new opportunities for growth of investments in energy, tourism and trade in particular," Shaikh Abdullah said in a speech at the first meeting of the Joint UAE-Turkmen Committee in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rasit Meredow. Trade between the UAE and Turkmenistan reached $1billion in 2012 and this exchange is the prelude to bigger investments, Shaikh Abdullah noted. On his part, Rasit Meredow said the meeting of the Joint UAE-Turkmen Committee was an opportunity for discussing the significance of cooperation between the public and private sectors of the two countries.
