Kuwait- 'Blackmailer' caught


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Police have arrested an unidentified Arab man for allegedly attempting to blackmail a Kuwait and trying to extort money from him, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources the Kuwaiti, working for the Ministry of Defence was involved in a traffic accident in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area. The other man involved in the accident was an Arab man. Following the accident both men exchanged a barrage of words and later ended up beating each other. The Arab suffered the most injuries including a broken arm. After the incident the Kuwaiti left the scene of the accident and the Arab man filed a case against him. Based on the car details given by the Arab man, the suspect was summoned for interrogation. The accused did not appear but his father came to the police station and tried to solve the issue amicably. He also told the 'victim' he was ready to compensate for the damage done to him and the latter allegedly demanded an astronomical figure of KD 30,000. The father was shocked when he heard the demand and filed a complaint with the police following which police set a trap for the man and arrested him. The man has now been referred for investigation.
