(MENAFN- AFP) US President Barack Obama will invite Republican and Democratic leaders of Congress to the White House next week for talks on averting an end-of-year fiscal and budget crunch, a US official said.
Obama was to make the announcement shortly in an on camera statement from the White House, and the invitation will include Republicans House Speaker John Boehner and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell, along with top Capitol Hill Democrats.
