(MENAFN - ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Petsec Energy (ASX: PSA) and Eni have brought an oil and gas well at their Main Pass 2710 field in the Gulf of Mexico back into production.

Workover operations were successfully completed at the Main Pass 270 A-3 well, which had been shut-in since April 2011 due to sanding up of the well bore.

This work involved extensive subsurface work at measured depths of about 3,535 metres and required the use of a large jack-up rig.

Production rates will be advised when the well has stabilised.

Gross costs for the workover were US13.4 million, or US3 million net to Petsec.

Petsec has a 22.5% working interest (18.75% net revenue interest) in the the A-3 well, the Main Pass 270 facilities, and two additional producing wells on the platform.

Eni is the operator of Main Pass 270.
