(MENAFN - ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Clean TeQ Holdings (ASX: CLQ) has been awarded a A2.4 million contract for the design, construction, installation and maintenance of five separate odour control facilities at various sites in and around Brisbane.
The contract is with Queensland Urban Utilities, formerly Brisbane Water, which Clean TeQ has previously worked with to deliver four odour control facilities in Brisbane.
The service and maintenance portion of the contract includes all five new odour control facilities, with options to extend year by year.
The five facilities will utilise Clean TeQ's proprietary OdourTeQ biological air treatment technologies.
Completion and commissioning is expected by the end of June 2013.
Clean TeQ has an extensive customer base amassed over its 20 years of operation including Melbourne Water, Sydney Water, Water Corporation WA, BHP Billiton (ASX: BHP), Rio Tinto (ASX: RIO), Queensland Gas, Transfield, Thiess, Paladin Energy (ASX:PDN), and Barrick Gold.
Its proprietary technology has been licensed to BHP Billiton for nickel extraction, as well as Associated Water Pty Ltd for treatment of coal seam gas water.
Clean TeQ also recently signed a joint venture agreement with Japan's Nippon Gas Co. for the licensing and marketing of Clean TeQ's range of technologies.
This is a significant milestone for the company as it accelerates commercialisation of its technologies in the Air, Water and Resource Recovery sectors in a broader global marketplace.
Clean TeQ will licence its range of technologies for application in the country to Clean World Japan Co., a company 85% owned by Nippon Gas and 15% owned by Clean TeQ.
The company is in advanced discussions with the first prospective client of Clean World Japan who is seeking to apply Clean TeQ's continuous ion exchange technology to recover valuable metals from waste streams.
