(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Regional indices closed positive amid low volumes and turnover as investors' focus shifted to the US presidential election.The Muscat Securities Market general index consolidated before closing flat at 5,686.52.Trading activity remained low as a total of 979 trades were executed, generating a turnover of RO2.84mn, while 9.97mn shares were exchanged over the counters. Market breadth remained in favour of advancers as of the 38 securities traded 14 advanced, while seven declined and 17 stocks closed unchanged.The top gainers for the day were Gulf International Chemicals (5.10 per cent at 165bz), Port Services Corporation (2.25 per cent at 499bz), ONIC Holding (2.12 per cent at 289bz), SMN Power Holding (1.81 per cent at RO4.50), and Oman Cables Industry (1.73 per cent at RO1) while the top losers were Dhofar Cattle Feed (-2.04 per cent at 192bz), Shell Oman Marketing (-1.51 per cent at RO2.35), Oman Fisheries (-0.95 per cent at 104bz), Al Jazeira Services (-0.81 per cent at 366bz) and Al Anwar Holding (-0.75 per cent at 132bz).All the three sectoral indices closed in the green. The Financial sector index inched up 0.10 per cent to close at 6,299.47. The Industrial and Services indices each added 0.24 per cent.By arrangement with National Bank of Oman
