(MENAFN) The Pan-Arab Research Center (PARC) revealed that in the January-September period, spending on advertising in the UAE reached USD1.1 billion, representing 32 percent of total ad spending in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), reported Arab News.

In Saudi, total ad spending reached USD1 billion in the period, accounting for 29.9 percent of total ad spending in the GCC, followed by Kuwait with USD759 million, Qatar with USD340 million, Oman with USD199 million and Bahrain with USD69 million.

In the first 9 months of 2012, the volume of ad spending in the GCC went up by 5.6 percent to USD3.5 billion, up from USD3.4 billion in 2011's same period.

It is worth noting that during the first 3 quarters of the year, total ad spending in the Arab World reached USD12.7 billion, up from USD10.4 billion in 2011.
