(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Hizaamak Amaanak - Buckle up for Life, a short film on the impact of road accidents on the victim and his kin, was screened for an audience of 30 exchange students from the US on Monday.Made by road safety awareness NGO Sustainability For Life in partnership with Sohar Aluminium, the film was screened at the Center for International Learning. It has been directed by Sami Jaffer and features an Omani family in the aftermath of a car accident that crippled their son. Bernadette Bhacker, the director of Sustainability For Life, said, ''The film was officially screened for these students and this marks the beginning of our campaign.Through the film and other means, we will target young drivers and their parents, asking them to wear seat belts. ''After an accident it is not only the victim, but also the entire family, that undergoes the pain.'' She added that there has been a good response to the film, that refrains from gory visuals, using storytelling through suggestive methods instead. ''There have been requests from colleges and student groups for a screening of the film. Our campaign will not only speak about the problem through films or animation, but will also train youngsters in safe driving.''
