UAE- Robbers prevent woman from jumping from balcony

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Two Indian men committed a robbery at knife-point at the apartment of a single woman before stopping her from jumping from her seventh-floor balcony and fleeing the scene. One of the alleged robbers was later placed under citizen's arrest by a neighbour who heard the screams of the victim, while the second suspect is still on the run. Police said they received a complaint from an Indian woman, identified as SN, that she was robbed at knifepoint on Monday morning by two unknown men. During investigation, the police learnt that two men had entered the flat of the woman who was living alone in a building in Al Shuwacahain area. They threatened her with a knife and asked her to hand over all cash. The woman then screamed for help and tried to jump out of the balcony, but the suspects prevented her and decided to flee the scene. A neighbour hearing the woman screaming caught hold of one of the thieves identified as ABH. During interrogation the suspect said his accomplice had told him to accompany him to the woman's house to have illicit sex with her and not to rob her. A hunt is on to arrest the other suspect.
