UAE 'attractive ground for investment'


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received Sir John Peace, chairman of Standard Chartered Bank, at Zabeel Palace on Monday. The meeting, which was attended by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, discussed a broad range of economic, financial and investment issues in relevant to the bank's operations in the UAE. Shaikh Mohammed welcomed the convening of the bank's board meeting in Dubai for the first time, a move he said would boost confidence of international financial firms in the UAE in general, and Dubai, in particular. He said concerned authorities in Dubai would provide every possible assistance to attract companies that "find in our country the attractive, fertile ground for their investment". Sir Peace thanked Shaikh Mohammed and the Dubai government for the assistance and facilities they provide to the bank.
