(MENAFN - Arab Times) A 25-year-old former military officer was arrested recently for allegedly participating in an anti-government rally that took place recently in Sabah Al-Nasser, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A source indicated that the identity of the officer was unveiled after he was treated at Farwaniya Hospital for smoke inhalation from tear gas during the rally, adding that hospital administration handed the suspect over to securitymen after his treatment.

During intensive interrogations, he confessed his involvement in the illegal rally and stoning of the security operatives.

He revealed that he joined the rally in front of Musallam Al-Barrak's diwaniya in Andalous, where they were led to the Central Prison.

He was referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.
The source revealed that he was the fifth suspect to be arrested in this case.

Meanwhile, counsel to the affected security operatives reportedly received several telephone calls from the suspects' council, requesting the former to convince his clients to withdraw their cases, but he objected to the demand.

In the same context, a reliable source revealed that the authority has debarred a military investigation officer of rank of 'Major' from handling the case registered at Sabah Al-Nasser police station against the protestors.

Reportedly, the officer tried to tamper with the statements and intended to use the fingerprint and signature of the an injured individual to indicate that the latter withdrew from the case.

The source added that he allegedly was planning to use the excuse that the injured person was under the influence of anesthesia shortly after surgery.

Veiled
A retired colonel of Egyptian Army Omar Afify has cautioned Kuwait and other GCC countries of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement's plan to take over governance in those countries, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

Through his Facebook account, Colonel Afify urged the concerned countries to tighten their security and take strong measures to protect notable personalities and major public utilities.

He advised the governments to appoint female police officers to check veiled women because the members of the movement have started using veils to cover themselves.

He reiterated that the movement has been striving hard to take control of the GCC region, stressing that the movement considers this project as a matter of life and death.

He affirmed that the movement has a vast network within the Arabian Gulf region, hinting, "They have different plans for different countries."
