Kuwait- Justice sought

(MENAFN- Arab Times) An Egyptian expatriate sought the help of Egyptian Embassy of Kuwait after he was stopped by Abu Halifa securitymen from lodging a complaint against an employee of Defense Ministry following a traffic accident on the night of Eid Al-Adha, reports Al-Dar daily. The embassy, after receiving the complaint from the Egyptian expatriate, appointed a Kuwaiti attorney to file a lawsuit with the Public Prosecution against the officer of Interior Ministry who refused the request of the Egyptian expatriate to register the accident based on 'wasta'. According to a diplomatic source, after the vehicle of a Defense Ministry officer crashed into that of the Egyptian expatriate, who at the time was accompanied by his brother, the three individuals went to Abu Halifa police station. When the Egyptian expatriate requested to register a case against the officer, several securitymen stopped him and tried to settle the matter between the two parties. When his brother intervened to convince the securitymen to register the case, one of the police officers attacked him and expelled him out of the police station. The source revealed that the expatriates tried to approach the Head of the police station but securitymen stopped them, adding that they approached the Egyptian Embassy following the incident and the embassy took the complaint into consideration by assigning the Kuwaiti attorney to handle the case.
