(MENAFN Press) The 2nd Annual IT for Government will provide the Government officials with a better understanding of the current situation and arm them with methods to re engineer their information and cyber security efforts to successfully confront these threats.

In a strongest warning to date by any Government Official, the US Defence Secretary Mr. Leon Panetta at a conference, described the dangers of cyber threats by likening a cyber attack to a "Cyber Pearl Harbour". His comments highlighted the growing complications and scale of the threats faced by the governments worldwide.

The Middle East region has witnessed a rise in cyber attacks, more focused on Government IT assets. Middle East oil and gas companies have been targeted in massive attacks on their computer networks, these attacks were also engineered against financial organizations and critical infrastructure.

Governments all over the globe are trying their best to cope up with these new cleverly engineered attacks. The 2nd Annual IT for Government will provide the Government officials with a better understanding of the current situation and arm them with methods to re engineer their information and cyber security efforts to successfully confront these threats. The summit scheduled for the 19th - 20th November 2012, will be held at Habtoor Grand Resort and Beach, Dubai, UAE. Sessions like 'Auditing the Hacker's mind: the Hacker's Profiling Project 2.0 ' will provide a close view and analysis of hacker's way of functioning through the findings of the immensely successful Hacker Profiling Project. 2.0.
The inaugural key note by His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Director General, Emirates Identitiy Authority titled 'An Innovative Approach to e-Government Transformation' will arm the delegates with the innovative framework which is a powerful tool in the hands of e-Government leaders to communicate and coordinate initiatives, and provide a clear visualization of an integrated approach to e-Government transformation.

An in depth showcase of the newly visualized INTERPOL Digital Crime Centre & Global Complex for Innovation, Mr. Noboru Nakatani, Executive Director, INTERPOL Digital Crime Centre & Global Complex for Innovation will enable network investigators with other experts across the world; leverage information, knowledge and expertise in digital forensics; and harmonize global efforts to enhance cyber-security. The session will be a highlight for Government IT professionals as it is an initiative to rally investigators, industry experts and academic institutions to provide global support to build regional capacity, thus making cyber space more secure, while keeping its openness are some of the topics that will be discussed in this summit.

The delegates will also learn about the e-Government Experience in Singapore “ The e-Government Journey of Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). Mr. Kevin Chan, International Operations Centre Director (Middle East) at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore will showcase the success stories and lessons learnt by IDA Singapore in being ranked amongst the top ten in the World by the United Nations e-Government Survey 2012.
