UAE- EMAL and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority join forces to improve cyber and electronic security'


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a close working relationship between the two organisations to combat the growing threat of cyber crime. The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Dubai by Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General of TRA and Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei, President and CEO of EMAL. Under the MoU, EMAL will cooperate with aeCERT (TRA's Emergency Response Computer Centre) to share information in areas of Information Security and Proactive Cyber Defence. The MoU allows for the exchange of security research and analysis information between EMAL and aeCERT and includes consultation, security awareness, monitoring and response, as well as advisory services by aeCERT for security incidents, including domestic and international cyber security threat awareness. "Governments and companies around the world face an increasing threat to both their systems and data. EMAL is committed to securing its information systems against today's sophisticated cyber threats, our cooperation with the TRA and the aeCERT will enable us to deal with the evolving cyber threat landscape" said Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei, President and CEO of EMAL.
