Lawsuit planned for 'defaming Kuwait'

(MENAFN- Arab Times) A legal committee is currently preparing a file that includes all violations, which are concerned with human rights, committed by some organizations of public utilities, as they dealt partially with the crisis provokers, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting reliable governmental sources. They said these organizations did not handle these incidents objectively as they sought to provoke the international opinion against the security authorities and the government to distort the reputation of Kuwait internationally. They explained that legal complaints will be submitted to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor as a first step because it is the concerned authority that can take legal action against the organizations that violate laws and by-laws. Furthermore, they will submit a legal lawsuit against them for defaming the image of Kuwait internationally by making up false reports. In the same context, former MP Dr Ali Al-Omair said, "It is not strange for International Amnesty Organization to criticize Kuwait. However, the strangeness lies in the pride over such a criticism." He stressed that the law of the country and its Constitution are the references to follow for any conflicts of the so-called organizations.
