(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait's crude oil exports to China grew 19.5 percent in September from a year earlier to 721,000 tons, equivalent to around 176,000 barrels per day (bpd), latest government data showed.
Kuwaiti share of Chinese crude oil imports stood at 3.6 percent last month, compared to 3.0 percent the year before, according to the General Administration of Customs.
In the first nine months of the year, crude oil exports to the world's biggest energy consumer surged 44.8 percent from the same period of 2011.
China's overall imports of crude oil in September went down 1.8 percent year-on-year to 4.91 million bpd. Saudi Arabia remained China's top supplier with its shipments rising 3.4 percent on the year to 990,000 bpd, followed by Angola with 899,000 bpd, up 40.2 percent. Oman became third, with imports from the country growing 7.2 percent to 484,000 bpd.
China, Iran's top oil buyer, imported 384,000 bpd oil from Iran last month, down 24.1 percent on the year, amid sanctions by the US and the EU on the Middle Eastern nation's oil sales.
