(MENAFN- Arab Times) Police have taken into custody an unidentified Kuwaiti man for holding his family hostage in a suburb of Sabah Al-Salem, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the suspect's sister managed to escape from the brother who was high on alcohol and called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
When police reached the spot they took the man into custody. The family members told the police the suspect was drunk and he demanded more money to celebrate the Eid festival.
When the family refused to give him more money, he held the entire family hostage and threatened to cause them harm.
He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.
