(MENAFN - Arab News) An Indian expatriate family's Eid festivities turned into mourning after their 2-year-old daughter was killed in road mishap Saturday night in Alkhobar.
Syed Haseeb who works in Jubail had gone to beach of Arabian Sea coastline in Alkhobar along with some friends and families. After spending some time at beach families were planning to return but their 2-year-old daughter Syed Haiqa was hit by a car. Haiqa, who sustained multiple injuries, died on the spot.
Necessary arrangements, including legal formalities, have been completed for burial of the girl in Eastern province yesterday, according to Nass Vokkam, a social worker in Eastern province. He assisted the family to complete death formalities.
The driver the car, a 22-year-old Pakistani, was detained by police.
The long coastline of Arabian sea in Alkhobar area are popular destination of holiday-making expatriates from Eastern and Central provinces, and are usually crowded on weekends and holidays.
