Energy Efficiency Stock News: UVM Deploys EnerNOC's (Nasdaq:ENOC), Award-Winning Software to Increase energy Management Visibility and Drive Savings at Campus
University of Vermont Utilizes EfficiencySMART(TM) Insight to Bolster Sustainability Strategy
Category: Investment, Renewable Energy
News about EnerNOC, Inc.
BOSTON - October 24, 2012 (Menafn - Investorideas.com renewable energy newswire) EnerNOC, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENOC), a leading provider of energy management applications and services, today announced that The University of Vermont (UVM) will deploy the company's EfficiencySMART Insight application to deliver energy savings at its highest energy-consuming buildings. EfficiencySMART is a key component of UVM's growing lineup of sustainability initiatives; EnerNOC's software-as-a-service (SaaS) application enables UVM to track and manage its energy use, furthering the University's position as a sustainability leader in the higher education space.
"At The University of Vermont, we are committed to fostering sustainability and improving the operational performance of our campus. Beyond our commitment to being good environmental stewards, investing in energy efficiency is important to us because the value we generate can be reinvested back into the university to improve the experience of our students," said Richard Wolbach, UVM's Energy Management Engineer. "EnerNOC's data-driven approach to energy management is unique because it gives us the necessary tools and information we need to prioritize our limited resources for immediate results. UVM is very anxious to review those results over the next year with the EnerNOC team."
EfficiencySMART Insight collects energy data from each building, applies EnerNOC's automated fault detection and diagnostic tools to analyze the data, and, with the help of an EnerNOC energy analyst, delivers a prioritized list of energy efficiency measures. Historically, greater than 80 percent of the energy efficiency measures identified by EfficiencySMART Insight have been low- or no-cost, making the economics of Insight compelling to budget-constrained organizations.
Because UVM is a longtime EnerNOC customer, having deployed EnerNOC's DemandSMART(TM) solution to participate in New England's demand response program since 2007, much of the infrastructure required to collect energy data was already installed. All but one of the UVM buildings that will be enabled with EfficiencySMART on campus already have existing EnerNOC Site Servers streaming five-minute interval data to EnerNOC's Network Operations Center. EnerNOC, UVM, and its local electric utility provider, Burlington Electric Department, have strategically deployed Insight at a total of five large campus facilities.
For more information about what utility incentive programs might be available for EfficiencySMART Insight or other energy management solutions, visit the "Funding Energy Efficiency" section of the EnerNOC website.
