(MENAFN) Samsung Electronics' Co. Executive Vice President, Nam Seong-woo, stated that in 2012, the company's sales of PCs are forecasted to rise 10 percent in terms of volume, reported AP. Seong-woo added that the firm hopes sales of the ATIV series of laptops and tablets, which are powered by Windows 8 operating system, to help raise its sales. The company said that the ATIV Smart PCs support touch-based features; including tapping and swiping the 11.6-inch screen to start programs. It comes with a detachable keyboard, and a digital pen and note-taking software to draw tablet PC buyers. The South Korean firm will begin selling the ATIV Smart PCs later this week, when other Windows 8 devices will go on sale worldwide. It is worth noting that many global PC manufacturers hope that Windows 8 will help them attract consumers who have preferred to acquire smartphones and tablets.
