DataDot Technology signs global seed company for China trial

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) DataDot Technology (ASX: DDT) has entered into a commercial agreement with a global seed company to conduct an exclusive eight month commercial and technical trial of Intelliseed in China. Intelliseed identifies the origin of bulk seeds and grain, enabling detection of substituted and counterfeit agricultural products and providing a control mechanism for internal or cross border, end-to-end supply chain management. The purpose of the trial is to evaluate in the Chinese market the technical feasibility of developing and marketing seed treatment formulations containing Intelliseed. During the eight month period, the global seed company can choose to initiate negotiations with DataDot's wholly owned subsidiary, AgTechnix, to secure exclusive rights to Intelliseed in agricultural applications in China and other countries. Innovative security program DataDot is making great strides in delivering its asset identification, management, protection and authentication technologies and solutions to various markets. This was recently recognised with the Chilean Government's award to Subaru Chile as the enterprise with the most innovative security program in 2012. Every new Subaru since December 2010 has been marked with DataDotDNA. DataDotDNA is a security identification system that uses DataDots (microdots) to protect property from theft, and has been shown to greatly reduce vehicle theft. Under the Total Protection Program each Subaru vehicle has been fitted with 7,000 DataDotDNA to deter professional criminal theft and an engine immobiliser to impede opportunistic theft. As a direct result, there has been a substantial and sustained decline in the theft of Subaru cars. In 2012 the monthly Subaru theft rate has been 31% lower than the monthly theft rate in each of the four years before the Total Protection Program was launched. Subaru was the only car brand in Chile for which actual theft numbers were lower in 2012 than 2011. Importantly, other car manufacturers are also recognising the potential of DataDotDNA, including Ford. DataDot recently inked a contract with Ford Taiwan to supply DataDotDNA whole-of-vehicle-marking to the company's range of vehicles, starting with the Mustang. Ford Taiwan is the 15th vehicle manufacturer in Asia to adopt DataDotDNA whole-of-vehicle marking.
