(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Public Prosecution has referred two Indian workers, aged 24 and 27, to the Court of First Instance to stand trial on the charges of intentionally killing a compatriot and consuming liquor. Younis Hussain Al Blushi, Chief Prosecutor at the Deira Prosecution, said the investigation and the testimonies of witnesses and defendants revealed that the murder followed a brawl over money. According to the records, the defendants went to the victim's labour accommodation in Al Muhaisna 2 while they were intoxicated. They stabbed him repeatedly with a sharp tool. The case, which was handled by prosecutor Ali Mohammed Al Suwaidi, dates back to June 16 when the police were informed about a murder at a labour accommodation. Through investigation, it was found that the victim had assaulted one of the defendants during a brawl over money. The defendant agreed with his accomplice to kill the victim and the accomplice stabbed him twice in the left side of his back and right thigh. The victim bled severely and died as a result, according to the Criminal Lab report. Al Suwaidi said that the two defendants, who were arrested within hours after the murder, admitted during the investigation that they assaulted the victim. They claimed they had no intention to kill him. Al Blushi urged the public to go through the legal and reasonable channels to solve any dispute or they might be involved in serious crimes.
