UAE- Mobile workshop deployed at Ghuweifat for pilgrims

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The General Headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Police has deployed mobile automobile workshops in addition to a field hospital and other services at Ghuweifat Check Post on Saudi border for pilgrims travelling by land to perform Hajj. According to the Abu Dhabi Police, the workshops have been deployed following a number of vehicles to Saudi Arabia, particularly those from Oman, developed technical problems, leaving the pilgrims stranded at Ghuweifat. Police rescue, safety and other services teams have also been deployed at different points on the Abu Dhabi-Ghuweifat Highway to assist Haj travellers. "These Abu Dhabi Police services have assisted travellers to overcome many problems they had faced and now the traffic and the pilgrims' movement are smooth without any delay. This has also been appreciated by Omani pilgrims who were provided with all the assistance to continue their journey without any hassle," said Colonel Ajeel Ali Abdullah, Director of the Western Region Police Directorate. One of the buses from Oman had developed technical problem but the technicians at the mobile workshop immediately came in, solving the problem and the pilgrims in the vehicle resumed their journey without much delay. The workshops, he added, have all the necessary equipment and in addition to well-trained technicians, to support the pilgrims. Abdullah advised motorists to carry all the necessary safety equipment and spare parts like fire extinguishers and good quality extra tyres. "Most important is to drive safely and avoid unnecessary overtaking, speeding and violating distance rule between vehicles," he advised.
