(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Minister of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government Ashti Hawrami said on Sunday the province is committed to deliver oil product to the oil ministry in the central government for the purpose of export. The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Hussain al-Shahristani said in a statement that a meeting was held between al-Shahristani and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Rose Nuri Shaways along with Hawrami to discuss issues related to oil between the province and Baghdad. He stressed the commitment of the province to hand over oil product to the Federal Oil Ministry for the purpose of export. Relations between the central government in Baghdad and the provincial government have been strained after disagreements over private oil contracts concluded by the Kurdistan region with a number of foreign companies which Baghdad deem "illegal".
