UAE to issue commemorative coins marking World Energy Forum


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) UAE's Central Bank Sunday announced it would issue tomorrow Monday commemorative Gold and Silver coins to mark the 2012 World Energy Forum in Dubai. The face of the two coins will depict name of the state in Arabic and English along with portraits of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nuhayyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum. The Central Bank said the back of both coins depicted the logo of the occasion circumscribed by the expersion " World Energy Forum 2012-Dubai" in Arabic and English scripts. All coins have been delivered to the Supreme Council of Energy, hence it will not be available for sale to the general public through banks. Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum will inaugurate the Forum, held for the first time outside the UN building in New York, which would be attended by more than 20 heads of state or government, 40 ministers and representatives of organizations. Participants will discuss safe, renewable and clean energy, diversifying energy resources - nuclear, solar and wind - and clean coal. Deliberations will focus on challenges facing energy, the use of new technology for traditional energy, development of energy infrastructure and having a new strategy to bolster partnership between the public and private sector, in addition to having a greater role by women and educational institutes in sustainable development.
