Multi-fuel storage project of USD 450 mln S. Algeria - Min. 

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Algerian Minister of Energy and Mining Youcef Yousfi disclosed here on Saturday a forthcoming multi-fuel storage project worth USD 450 million, was to be constructed at the entrance of Tamanrasset, in south of the country, within 36 months timeframe.

The project would cover an area of 20 hectares with a storage ability of 48, 000 cubic meters, Yousfi said in an interview with Algerian radio, adding that project's site would link Tamanrasset to Ain Saleh, an oasis town in central Algeria.

He urged operators of this anticipated "gigantic" project to start the completion stage as soon as possible, as it has large reflections on various development projects in that area, to which among priorities are electricity power generation and upgrading of industrial activities.

Furthermore, this project, as well as other upcoming ones would open up new prospects in establishing mini-foundations specialized in traditional industries and crafts through conversion and remanufacturing of marble.
