TV programme to familarise eGovt services

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) on Wednesday launched a TV programme, Ana Elecrtoni, or 'I Am Connected' initiative to promote the accessibility of eGovernment services. Salem Khamis Al Shair Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General for Information and eGovernment Sector, TRA, said the programme, launched in collaboration with the Arab Media Network, will officially air in January 2013. "The weekly show will broadcast on 15 TV channels across the GCC updating viewers on the range of government services available online, and how best to use them." Al Shair added that governments are united in the search for ways to structure services that reduce cost, increase efficiency, ensure accountability and remain transparent. "The Middle East is no different in this regard and the role of the UAE's eGovernment service is heightened given the sheer pace of technological advancements within the region." "E-Government provides citizens with a central point of access to government services, and 'I Am Connected' is a show designed to promote exactly that," he explained. Mostafa Salamah, CEO, Arab Media Network, said the Government, committed to realising the ambitious targets set out in the UAE Vision 2021, has made great strides in placing its essential services online.
