(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Gulf Mushroom Products has reported a 37 per cent rise in net profit for the nine-month period that ended September 30, 2012. The company's net profit rose to RO857,658 for the first nine months period this year as compared to RO624,961 in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to its filing to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) on Tuesday.The company's total revenue rose to RO4.54mn as compared to RO3.84mn in the same period a year ago, an increase of 18 per cent from last year.''During the nine month period the company produced 2,446 metric tonnes of fresh white button mushrooms compared to 2,109 metric tonnes for the same period last year, an increase of 16 per cent. We also achieved a sales turnover of RO4.5mn as compared to RO3.82mn for the same period last year, an increase of 18 per cent,'' said Abdullah Nasser al Hadharami, general manager of Gulf Mushroom Products in the company report.''The significant increase in both production and sales was partly due to low production during first quarter of last year on account of temporary yield variation,'' added Hadharami.
