Siemens wins USD562m contract from Dubai's DEWA


(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's (DEWA) managing director and CEO, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, stated that the company has awarded a USD562 million contract to Siemens International, reported Arabian Business. Al Tayer said that the 12-year contract includes maintenance works on 6 gas turbines and 6 power generators in the biggest power generation and water desalination station at Jebel Ali. He added that the deal would contribute to achieving the highest levels of operational availability and reliability, mainly during the summer season. It is worth noting that Siemens will provide manpower, equipment, tools, spare parts needed for the renovation of the turbines and generators to boost their operating hours to around 100,000.
