BP spends USD7m to upgrade Mozambique's Nacala fuel terminal


(MENAFN) British Petroleum (BP) stated that so far this year; it has invested over USD7 million in the Nacala fuel terminal in Mozambique, reported Xinhua News. BP said that the investments included the renovation of the terminal, as the shortage of money delayed previous plans to upgrade it in order to be able to receive huge ships. BP, which has a 16-percent share in the country's oil market, will be able to further supply fuel locally and abroad to meet growing demand. BP Mozambique General Director, Martinho Guambe, said that the investment highlights the company's commitments to enhance its services in the country, adding that 200 new jobs have been created due to the renovation work at the fuel terminal. It is worth noting that BP also plans to upgrade the fuel terminals in Matola, the city adjoining the capital Maputo and the country's second largest city of Beira in the central province of Sofala.
