Iran exports USD571m worth of aluminum, steel and iron ore


(MENAFN) Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced that the country's exports of aluminum, steel and iron ore products exceeded USD571 million in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year, reported Tehran Times. Exports of aluminum products during the period reached USD188 million, whereas steel exports were at USD307 million and exports of iron ore were valued at USD77.3 million. The Islamic Republic has carried out 228 projects in the steel industry, creating 5,512 jobs. It is worth noting that implementing indigenized technology projects by IMIDRO has saved around USD750 million during the past 5 years; according to IMIDRO chairman Fereydoun Ahmai.
