(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The training and development of human resources feature high on Kuwait's Oil Ministry overall strategy for energy sector development, Kuwait Ministry of Oil's Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs Sheikh Talal Nasser Al-Azabi Al-Sabah said Saturday.

"Kuwait has great ambitious training policies and plans to upgrade the performance of all energy sector personnel," Sheikh Talal told KUNA on the sidelines of his participation in the eighth coordinating meeting of oil training centers in the member states of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) kicked off here Saturday.

He pointed out that Kuwait has signed agreements with the United Kingdom, France and Singapore for training of the oil sector cadres. Kuwait has presented to the meeting a training guide for trainees, Sheikh Talal said, adding that the OAPEC meeting is a good chance for oil sector training officials to exchange views and best practiced examples in the training field.

The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) is a multi-governmental organization headquartered in Kuwait which coordinates energy policies between oil-producing Arab nations, and whose main purpose is developmental.

OAPEC member states are Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt , United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Qatar and Syria.
